Charlottetown Capital New Year - First Night 150

The free, family friendly event, Capital New Year – First Night 150, will take place on Great George Street with Province House as the backdrop, where the Fathers of Confederation first arrived and conceived the idea of Canada as a nation. The celebration will include stage performances, two pyrotechnic displays and indoor and outdoor entertainment.

The evening will start with family-focused activities from 5:30 p.m. until approximately 7:45 p.m., but the party will continue until midnight with more adult oriented entertainment and a unique pyrotechnic show to help ring in the New Year.

Schedule of Events:

5:30pm to 7:30pm - Horse & Wagon Rides on Great George Street between Fitzroy and Euston. Pick up on Fitzroy.
5:30pm to 7:30pm - Indoor Children's Activities: Face Painting and Balloon Twisting, Children's Craft, Buskers, and a performance by The Music Man, Michael Pendergast. The Holman Grand Hotel - 2nd Floor. Direct access from Grafton Street. Accessible access through hotel.
6:00pm to 6:30pm - Peoples' Night Parade on Great George Street between Fitzroy and Grafton.
6:30pm to 6:45pm - Opening Ceremony on the Mainstage
6:45pm to 7:30pm - Carribean Fusion Band, I and the Village on the Mainstage
7:30pm to 7:40pm - Family Fireworks on the Mainstage
7:45pm to Midnight - Buskers on Great George Street between Grafton and Kent.
7:50pm to 8:20pm - Island Traditional Acadian Band, Gadelle on the Mainstage
8:25pm to 9:05pm - Meaghan Blanchard on the Mainstage
9:10pm to 9:20pm - Busker: 2 Person Acro on the Mainstage
9:25pm to 10:25pm - Tyler Shaw on the Mainstage
10:30pm to 10:50pm - Julia Dunn on the Mainstage
10:55pm to 11:55pm - Alan Frew on the Mainstage
11:55pm to Midnight - Closing | Countdown on the Mainstage
Midnight to Midnight - Pyrotechnic Finale on the Mainstage
