Art in the Open
Saturday, August 25, 2018 - Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 4:00pm - 12:00am
Picnicking under a suspended car, marching with crows, being mesmerized by artistry in the forest - you never know what you’ll discover at Art in the Open. Each year in late August, for one day only, Charlottetown’s downtown becomes the site of this magical, contemporary arts festival.
Free to the public and family-friendly, this unique event transforms the historic downtown into an open air art gallery that celebrates the heritage and green spaces of the city with ephemeral works of visual art, including installations, screenings, projections, performance art, dance and more.
You’re encouraged to explore the spaces, ask questions and engage with the diverse, the unusual and the stunning. And, as always, Art in the Open is for the birds - crows, specifically. An annual ritual, the March of the Crows, returns each year, winding its way through Charlottetown’s downtown and ending at Victoria Park, a well-known ‘hangout’ for the city’s crow population. You’re invited to don your crow costume and join the fun!
Art in the Open takes place August 25, 2018 from 4:00pm to midnight.
