A Guide To Public Restrooms In Downtown Charlottetown

May 14, 2019

Perhaps not the sexiest topic in the world, but if there’s one thing that unites us all, it’s the fact that when nature calls, nature calls.

So you’re out and about on a hot summer day, enjoying the beauty and buzz of downtown Charlottetown. Suddenly that pivotal moment occurs when you discover you’ve had a bit too much water (or one pint too many, perhaps?), and you need to find a public restroom in a pinch.

Panic not, my friend!

Downtown Charlottetown has plenty of places to do your thing that don’t require ducking into a nearby pub or shop and pretending to be a patron—even if you’re not, we’ll still forgive you.

VICTORIA PARK
With wide open green spaces, wooded walking trails, a harbour-front boardwalk, and a number of sporting fields, lush Victoria Park is a hub of activity. Thankfully, it also has two public toilets: one at the Kiwanis Dairy Bar and another near the baseball diamonds.

CONFEDERATION COURT MALL
Perhaps the most centrally-located restrooms in downtown, the Confederation Court Mall has a selection of bathrooms located on the second floor.

CONFEDERATION CENTRE OF THE ARTS
Whether you’re perusing the Confederation Centre Art Gallery, taking in a world-class musical, or simply enjoying live music on Victoria Row, there are a couple of different bathrooms located within the main level of the Confederation Centre of the Arts.

THE DELTA PRINCE EDWARD
Though not technically “public” restrooms as such, within the main level of the Delta Prince Edward you’ll find washrooms that are easily accessible for those wandering about downtown. You’ll find it on the corner of Water and Queen Streets, just up from the big red 2018 sign.

PEAKE’S WHARF HISTORIC WATERFRONT
Conveniently located for those browsing the many waterfront shops, enjoying the Summer Concert Series’ live music, or simply eating a delicious COWS ice cream are public restrooms just below Peake’s Quay Restaurant and Bar.

FOUNDER’S HALL
Located at the bottom end of Prince Street, Founders’ Hall is your go-to place for all tourist information and also has public restrooms to satisfy your needs.
