Tucked away behind the Beach Grove Home at 200 Beach Grove Rd, these picturesque nature trails invite visitors to explore winding wooded paths and take in beautiful scenery.
Located in Downtown Charlottetown, Victoria Park is a 40-acre expanse with easy trails through its forested areas and, after a fresh snowfall, along its beloved boardwalk. The perfect city respite for families and new snowshoers.
Located just across the Hillsborough Bridge, this trail is a 17-acre park located at 57 Bunbury Rd, Stratford.
Located on the east side of the city, this narrow trail snakes its way through the woods along the Hillsborough River. Parking is available at Hillsborough Hospital.
Within city limits, this wide, flat and well-groomed trail is the perfect way to get from downtown to midtown and uptown. On Saturday mornings, be sure to swing by the Charlottetown Farmers’ Market, right off the trail along Belvedere Avenue. *Take note the trails are only open to snowshoers and walkers from the stretch between the arterial highway to Joe Ghiz Park – View map here.
Located just a 15-minute drive east of Charlottetown in the community of Suffolk, Winter River Trail (6km) includes a wooded road, white spruce trees, gently rolling terrain, and plenty of opportunities to view wildlife and waterfowl in the woods and along the Winter River as it opens up to Winter Bay.
Enjoy a trek through fields and mixed forest as you explore the Farmland Trail and watch for an archaeological site. And yes, you’ll happen across a spring bubbling up from the ground along the Bubbling Springs Trail (4km) in Stanhope.
Drive 15 mins outside of Charlottetown to explore the trails and disc golf course at the Terry Fox Complex (2.5km) at 85 Hilltop Drive, Cornwall.
