Snowshoes in the City

Discover Charlottetown is delighted to present Snowshoes in the City, an exciting initiative that offers visitors a unique chance to explore the city and beyond by snowshoe!  In partnership with several of the city's best accommodation providers, visitors can take advantage of complimentary (loaner!) snowshoes during their visit.

Get kitted out in Tubbs snowshoes and head out for snow-filled adventures in Charlottetown and beyond. We've even created a curated trail guide to help you plan the perfect snowshoe outing for your group. Print guides are available at all participating accommodations or you can download a digital copy here.

City Skating Rink Schedules

Several outdoor skating rinks are available for use by the public during the winter season.  There are also public skates scheduled at a number of the City's indoor rinks. Bring your skates and helmet (mandatory) and have a time of it with your friends or family!

Stephanie McQuaid - @theredheadroamer 

Stephanie McQuaid is a registered nurse by trade, but when she's not caring for her patients she spends her free time exploring all PEI has to offer. Her camera and phone are never far away so she can document and share her adventures on her Instagram account, @theredheadroamer.

Self-described as endlessly curious, Stephanie loves to learn about new people, places, food, cultures, professions, and anything else you can think of. She is thrilled to be a Winter Ambassador and cannot wait to discover all the fun to be had during winter in Charlottetown. 

Chef Kyle Panton - @chef_kyle_panton

Chef Kyle Panton of Sims Corner Steakhouse & Oyster Bar is one of the Island’s foremost culinary talents. He embraces a passion and philosophy that reflects a down-to-earth approach to preparing dishes from the abundance of PEI’s natural ingredients. Kyle is also the co-owner of One Vision Farms. Located in Belfast, PEI, the farm produces over 100 varieties of vegetables for local restaurants.

When the apron is off, Kyle enjoys spending time with his family and depending on the season, working on his organic vegetable garden, hunting or playing hockey. He enjoys being part of the vibrant culinary culture on the Island and looks forward to helping shape the future of PEI’s food industry.

Mathieu Arsenault - @winterlovepei

Mathieu Arsenault is a trilingual Acadian consultant, community leader and Charlottetown resident. His “superpower” is engaging and rallying a team to build things. Amongst the many projects he's spearheaded, Mathieu is the co-founder WinterLove PEI. This grassroots initiative focused on celebrating winter in Prince Edward Island and enhancing people's quality of life during this snowy season. 

Mathieu's thirst for adventure and knowledge have led him to take on many unique experiences including learning Russian fluently; sailing on a tall ship; and being part of Team Canada at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games. He is passionate about building a better Charlottetown for all its residents!
