The iconic Canadian Forces Snowbirds will dazzle the Charlottetown waterfront with their aerobatic show on July 9 at 2 p.m. Viewers are advised to gather along the waterfront between Confederation Landing and the Charlottetown Yacht Club to witness the synchronized acrobatics of Canada’s finest pilots as they paint the sky with mesmerizing formations or watch from a safe waterfront vantage point of your choice and tune in to a livestream of the Snowbirds’ narration and soundtrack through the Ocean 100 or Hot 105.5 Facebook pages. During the show, which will be choreographed to a musical soundtrack, the Snowbirds will perform over 50 different formations and maneuvers, including thrilling solo passes, graceful eight-plane formations, and exciting rolls and loops.
Following the show, the public is invited to Founders’ Food Hall and Market, 6 Prince Street, for a meet-and-greet with the Snowbirds pilots from 4 – 5 p.m.
The most unique view of the performance will be from the Charlottetown Harbour itself, and the City encourages boaters to get out on the water to experience this incredible show.
However, please note that a sterile aerial display area exclusion zone will be in effect from approximately 1:30 to 3 p.m. on July 9, closing the area to all marine traffic except authorized personnel and emergency services. Show markers and boundary buoys will be in place, and mariners are advised to exercise caution. The Canadian Coast Guard and RCMP will be monitoring the area for safety.
Keep in mind that the schedule of events is subject to change due to weather or other circumstances. Stay updated by following Canadian Forces Snowbirds on Facebook.
